Channel 4 – Leeds

Challenges:

Creating a state-of-the-art Channel 4 News hub from the ground up with all technical installations linked in real time to the London studio in Grays Inn Road, where East On Media Solutions was also working with Jago Designs and ES Broadcast to create a full design and build upgrade.

Channel 4 News was housed in a temporary Leeds studio as the project was underway; it was critical for broadcast purposes that the new studio and offices were delivered on time.

What we did:

East On Media Solutions worked closely with Channel 4 News and ITN plus set designers, system integrators and studio build teams to utilise the best technology and building innovations.  This ambitious project involved a full Cat A/ Cat B fitout, two edit suites and studio build with a stunning curved video wall plus wet room, kitchen/breakout area, make up/ dressing room and office area furniture installation.

Upon completion, the temporary Leeds studio was “swung across” to the new location and decommissioned.

Result:

The project was delivered on time and under budget, enabling seamless broadcasting from London and Leeds and timed to dovetail with a comprehensive Design and Build studio project running simultaneously at the Channel 4 News’ London studio.
